I highly suggest that everyone check out both of these services. Pownce is a new service started up by Leah Culver, Daniel Burka, Kevin Rose, and Shawn Allen. It basically lets you blast out messages, files, links, etc. to friends. It is a great way of planning events or just generally keeping everyone up to day. It is invite only. I currently have 10 to give out so if anyone wants one, shoot me an email. And add me as a friend.
Second one is Last.fm. This is actually pretty cool. It tracks what you listen to in iTunes or windows media and posts it to your last.fm page. You can check out what friends are listening to, share info, etc. It is a free download. All you have to do is create an account. They even allow you to post a small widget in your blog or myspace page. Pretty cool if you ask me. If you do sign up, add me as a friend!
Peace,

Okay, so I have had the chance to see a few movies over the past couple of weeks along with get a few CDs. Figured I would put up my opinion of them.
Movies
Transformers - Okay, this is the latest movie I have had the chance to see. For what it was, I enjoyed it. I went into it with ZERO expectations. It is a Michael Bay (Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, The Island) movie, after all. You can’t walk into one of his movies expecting a compelling story or a thought-provoking script. This was a movie about robots beating the crap out of one another. That’s it. And it accomplishes that fairly well. Ending action scene is amazing. A little disappointed that I didn’t hear Mute Math’s rendition of the theme, but then again I didn’t stay all the way through the credits. So, if you are looking for a mindless good time and have two and a half hours to blow, go see it.
Live Free or Die Hard - I could basically just copy my Transformers review down to this, sans Michael Bay. Mindless good time. Stuff blows up. Kevin Smith is in it. Go see it.
Music
Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell - I should qualify this review by saying that I have been a huge BR fan for the better part of my life. They have been an incredibly huge influence on me, especially in my more malleable years. Now, that aside, this album is amazing. There isn’t a song on it that I don’t enjoy listening to over and over again. It is punk rock, but you can hear influences from various other genres mixed in. There is a bit of a blues element to some of the songs, a bit of a metal element to others. One thing is for sure: once this album starts, it doesn’t let up for a second. It is coming out July 10th, so I strongly suggest you go pick up a copy on Tuesday!
Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist - I had really high hopes for this album. I like the Pumpkins (most of the time) and they were a band that put out good records fairly consistently. Unfortunately, this album just doesn’t cut it. I know that I shouldn’t be expecting another Melon Colly or anything like that, but this is just disappointing. The songs are forgettable and act as little more than background music for me. The one standout is the first single off the album, Tarantula. If the rest of the album was like this, it was be amazing. But everything else just falls flat. It almost sounds as if they are putting out an album just to put one out and don’t really give a damn about how it sounds. It’s as if they are saying “Hey everyone, we are back. We are sure if we want to be, but we are. So here is some music.”
Well, that is all for now. Peace out everyone.

If you can to know what the absolute definition of satire is, take a look at “A Modest Proposal”. Then come back and tell me it isn’t one of the funniest things you have ever read.
